If God lived on earth, it would have to be in South Dakota for only such an enormous skycould contain him. The vastness of the heavens, the endless expanse of rolling plains and the sparceness of habitation leaves a person in an almost unsettled state of agrophobia and nakedness.It seemed to me as if the entire population of China could be effortlessly disolved into the grassyplains and rolling hills even as rain is, and show no increase for it.
